The Ohlson Family Foundation grew from a family’s love for animals, a commitment to community, and a desire to turn something we love into something that can help others.
About The Foundation
A Family Foundation Built Around Compassion
The Ohlson Family Foundation is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt public charity dedicated to supporting local animal welfare organizations and programs.
The foundation was created from a simple belief: families and communities can make a meaningful difference when they come together around causes they care about. For our family, that cause has always included animals.
Our goal is to take that love and turn it into action. Through charitable fundraising, community awareness, and support for organizations working directly with animals, we seek to help strengthen the network of people and organizations providing care, protection, rehabilitation, and second chances.
We are a new foundation, and we are intentionally building our charitable work one step at a time. Rather than measure our success simply by the size of our organization, we believe in building meaningful relationships with organizations that are already doing important work in our community.

The foundation focuses on practical ways to raise charitable support and connect our community with organizations working to improve the lives of animals.
Community Fundraising
We raise charitable funds through community fundraising activities, including Max & Ares Magical Awesomeness, our annual holiday light show. The event brings families and neighbors together while creating an opportunity to support animal welfare.
Charitable Giving
Funds raised through our charitable activities support organizations whose work aligns with our mission of helping animals and strengthening animal welfare in our community.
Community Awareness
We use our website, events, and community presence to introduce people to animal welfare organizations and encourage community members to learn more about the causes and organizations they support.
Connecting People With Causes
We believe that helping does not always begin with a donation. Learning about an organization, attending an event, sharing information, volunteering, or simply spreading the word can all help strengthen the community of people working on behalf of animals.
